NEW STUFF

OK friends, Romans, countrymen I'm trying something new here. In my last post I told you about our travel trailer and one of our friends made the lovely comment "woo hoo now I have friends who are trailer trash". We're not moving into the thing for good we will still have our home dear. I suppose she was joking in her sarcastic, witty, banter. Either way I'm sure she will spend a night or 50 in the thing before she moves to the next world. Ahh yes vacations in a trailer (whose idea was this anyway)?

Just kidding I'm really looking forward to it myself. I truly can't wait for the thing to get built and get here. Well it seems that the Ford Ranger was going to be a little stressed pulling this thing. So we decided to take the plunge again. We basically lost what we paid on the Ranger and purchased a new truck. OK get ready for this:::: We bought a Chevy. SHHHHHHH.... Don't tell anyone and maybe no one will find out I bought a Chevy product... Oh well it's too late everyone at work saw it and Heaven knows when those little busybody cops find out about it EVERYONE knows.

I scanned the sticker and I'm going to try to link to it using our new SBC DSL "briefcase." So, here goes nothing.

(NOTE: Link removed because Lisa got tired of not seeing the sidebar. And besides, we don't have that particular truck anymore... so it doesn't matter anyway.)
OK that seemed to work out fairly decently.. Just so you know if you want to get a better look at the image you can right click it and left click "view image. This will take you to a new page with nothing but the enlarged image. After you view the "specs" of the new truck you can left click your back button on your broswer to get back to the blog.

Sorry for the web tutorial but I don't know exactly who is reading and this and how much knowledge they have. Anyway that's our new truck. We kept the payment at about 30 bucks more a month moved up to the bigger truck and just basically lost what we had paid on the Ranger. Always going to have a truck payment anyway so really doesn't make much difference.

A lot of new stuff here on Delaware. Pool should be opening soon too. We're here waiting for summer.

DISABLE THE CABLE BAYYYYBEEEE

It's Sunday afternoon... I came home from work and managed to get the SBC DSL working with the router in about 15 minutes after messing with it for 4 1/2 hours the other night to no avail. So, now we have DSL at 26.99 a month and DIRECTV satellite TV at 50 bucks a month... This is opposed to Adelphia cable TV and internet which was setting us back 120 / month.... CHA CHING saving about 43 bucks right there plus I just cancelled the cell phones that were costing 100 or more....... CHA CHING again... Just paid for my monthly travel trailer payment... For those of you in the dark about this last week we ordered a 22 foot Flagstaff trailer with a 3300 pound dry weight... Well under the 5800 Ford says we can tow with the Ranger... Plus I was talking to a guy at work today who told me we have a Reese hitch (news to me). I guess this means it's better for towing and it means I have a towing package on the truck which means it's not necessary to buy all the transmission coolers and temp guages which i thought i would need... All comes as part of the tow package... You can see a link to the floor plan of the trailer we bought here

OUR TRAILER

Lisa and Izzy are getting ready... I think we may be going to BW3 but I'm not sure... The reason I had a spare minute to write is because they were in the shower.... Now they're out and it's chaos.... Viva Las Vegas and We Are The Dinosaurs blaring in my ear from the Itunes.....

INSANITY IS KICKING IN.....................

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding.... By the way if you folks don't have Apple's Itunes you are REALLY REALLY missing out... Especially if you have quite a bit of music... We're just short of 7000 songs so with that you need something to help catalog and keep them under control....

"If I wind up broke I'll always remember I had a swinging time." VIVA LAS VEGAS

The girls are ready... I gotta go get ready....

Lola, part 2

Have to respond to the comments...

To b.... it probably took me a while because it came out when I was -4 (that's negative 4) I don't remember much... and besides --- it takes me a while to get things...

To Design Goddess... I think this is the LOLA you speak of.... read the lyrics, and then read the little note at the bottom... this song for wedding receptions? It's a break up song!!!!!

Have to make this short -- Izzy has a blister.... major trauma.... must attend to her every need in this time of crisis.

Lola

I have about 20 minutes left until my brownies are done (new recipe - we'll see how they turn out. - Actually, I don't really care how they turn out - I was just craving the brownie batter)

Anyway - This will give me just enough time to relate my thoughts on a song I heard the other day. Lola - by the Kinks. You know the one... catchy tune... lots of lo-lo -la- la - la's in it.... I can remember singing this song when I was little - just be-bopping around singing the chorus. (It took me a while to remember the verses) Well, since the song was on the radio, I was in the car or something - I had time to listen to the lyrics. First verse -

I met her in a club down in old soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola [lp version:
Coca-cola]
C-o-l-a cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said lola
L-o-l-a lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola

So far.. not bad, I'm bee-boppin' along in my car, singing along... Guy at a party - meets a chick with distinct voice and then I hear the next part...

Well I’m not the world’s most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well I’m not dumb but I can’t understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
OK - she likes it a little rough... maybe a fan of pro-wrestling... the storyteller doesn't think much about it...

Well we drank champagne and danced all night
Under electric candlelight
(Picture cheesy 70's chandelier here)

She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said dear boy won’t you come home with me
Well I’m not the world’s most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes well I almost fell for my lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola

How sweet - love at first sight!

Sometimes, (Just ask my hubby and friends ) it takes me a while to get things.... Denise Russel at Tear-E'Z, anyone?

I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
Then I looked at her and she at me

Well that’s the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls

WHHAATTT!!! Lola's a MAN????? How did I miss that one! I about ran off the road when I heard this... wishing I had a TIVO for the car radio, so I could rewind and hear that again.

It’s a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for lola
You got that right, bucko!
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola

Well I left home just a week before
And I’d never ever kissed a woman before
But lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said dear boy I’m gonna make you a man

Well I’m not the world’s most masculine man
But I know what I am and I’m glad I’m a man
So, does this last line mean the singer is now a tranny, too?

And so is lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola

I just may have to take a closer look at Weird Al's YODA - to see what ol' big ears is up to!

Oy! My brownies are done!

Go BO!

Tonight, I's watching American Idol. I'm rooting for Bo Bice -- gotta love his hair. He's a rockin' singer. The first time I saw him, he sang Allman Bros "Whipping Post" -Gotta love that. Anyway - he's got good stage presence, a great voice, and did I mention the hair? Tonight he sang the Skynyrd classic - "Freebird" Not an easy song for anyone to sing (Just ask Will to Power). But I thought his singing was great. The backup band however - not equipped for this song... so I fear the worst for Bo, even though he is a great singer.
